The Politics SermonIs God a Republican, or a Democrat? Do we cast a vote for a person because of their policies, or because of their character? Can morality be separated from political policy? Does God really even care who we vote for? How separate should our faith be from our politics?

The discussion of faith and politics can easily lead us into questions, but our discussions don’t always lead us to answers. Political tensions are occupying more and more of our nation’s attention, and with good reason. How our nation – and our local communities – are governed matters greatly. With the importance that politics bring, do we draw a line between our faith and our politics, or are they inseparably drawn together?

This Sunday at Liberty Hill I’ll be talking about the role that our faith has in our politics. We may not always see it, but our political views are deeply connected to our views on truth, morality, and humanity: all of which are things that God cares deeply and passionately about. We won’t be talking about political parties, but we will be talking about how to develop a political perspective that honors both freedom and faith. Come experience it with us! Sunday School begins at 9:30 AM, and the worship service begins at 10:30 AM.
