We all exist, but we’re not all living. Maybe another way of expressing that idea is to borrow the old phrase (and song lyric), “there’s a difference between living and living well.” We are existing as we go through the routines of our lives, taking care of our tasks and responsibilities, and going about our business. But living is something entirely different. Living is about what we are experiencing deep within us as we go about those same routines, tasks, and responsibilities. The difference between existing and living is not about our routines, or any of our circumstances, for that matter. The difference is be-stillfound in what is happening within our souls, not our situations. To do more than exist, we have to be spiritually alive and in harmony with God. If He is the source of all life, then we are only experiencing a quality of inward life to the degree that we are experiencing a quality relationship with Him.

This Sunday at Liberty Hill, we’re going to challenge ourselves to “Be Still;” to stop simply going through the motions of life, and discover what it means to become truly alive. Join us at 10:30 AM as we ask God to help us break out of routines of existence, and come alive with Him.

Grace Received,

Joe Payne
