This Sunday at Liberty Hill promises to be a Sunday of mixed emotions for our church family. On the painful side, as a church we’ll be saying our farewells to Pastor Phil Warren and his family as they prepare to leave for the mission field of Saipan. On the more enjoyable side, we are excited for them as they go forward into an incredible experience and opportunity. Phil, Cindy, Oliver, and Harley have been an immeasurable blessing to our Liberty Hill family and to our community over the years, and in no uncertain terms, their presence will be greatly missed. As much as they will be missed, though, we are as equally proud of them for their decision to serve the Kingdom of God and the people of Saipan as missionaries. We are confident that the gospel of Jesus Christ will be more clearly known, understood, received, and celebrated through the Warren family’s mission, and because of this we are able to rejoice. The Warren family will still – and always – be a part of our lives, regardless of their physical address!
This Sunday at 10:30 AM Pastor Phil will be sharing his heart for the gospel, and for their mission to the people of Saipan. His brother Sean, the Director of International Missions for General Baptists, will then be leading us in commissioning the Warrens for their service. This will be a time for us to spiritually encourage and support the official declaration of the Warren’s mission. After service, we will be having a reception for the Warren family in The Hub.
Although our emotions may be mixed, our excitement for the Warrens is clear, and our expectations for the Kingdom of God are high! We will of course continue to be praying for the Warrens, and we will also do something just as important and meaningful: be faithful to obey the call of God in our own lives as well!
